A judge has banned Scott Wiese from changing his name to Peyton Manning. A few days before the Super Bowl, Scott announced that if his Chicago Bears lost the game, he would change his name to Peyton Manning. As his luck would have it, he lost that bet and went before a judge to change his name.
The judge disagreed with his motive and made Scott happy by denying his request. Which once again proves that friends should not let friends drink and make bets on the Super Bowl.
Okay, I am the procrastinator. Earlier this month, Erin and I visited a close friend’s wedding here in Indy. Erin brought her camera along and got a few shots (we tried to stay out of the photographers way). Here’s a link to Erin’s post on her blog:

So, here’s my official congratulations to Katie and Tom!
Some of you know what happened to Kara’s Dad last month. For those of you who don’t, he was involved in a major car carsh and has had a difficult recovery. They’ve been waiting on pins and needles waiting for improvements and today they got the one they were waiting for. He woke up! It was a tearful day today for the entire family, as he began making theis significant leap.
I can’t give you all the details to keep the information private with Kara’s family, but keep the prayers up, they really do work.
Previously I had shared with you and experience that I had with another hosy=ting company in which I was not happy with. This time I have found my webhost for life in GoDaddy.com.
I was initially sent to GoDaddy when I was having issues with Gate.com. I was looking for a reasonably priced webhost that would host ASP.net 2.0 apps with no extra charge and the ability to have control over the DNS and hosting. GoDaddy was the perfect solution.
I frequently need access to the hosting admin to change the app roots, the domain, the email accounts, etc., because the clients that I deal with are important to me and I pride myself in providing fast service. I can on-the-fly provide that service with no questions asked and, more importantly, no calls to their customer service to have a “ticket” started. In fact, I think I have only called their customer service once in the time that I have been with them (since November) and they have called me multiple times thanking me for being a client and asking if there was anything they could do to make my transition more smooth.
Never, with any webhost, have I ever been treated so well. I even received a welcome packet in the mail within a month reminding me of the number to customer service and what my customer number was. They even put in on a handy reminder card.
Now for those of you who are interested in the science and hard-facts, I will tell you this. Their server has been the fastest that I have ever hosted on. I have hosted with companies that have taken over a minute to return a page on the server, to companies that have been only seconds. When it comes down to it, their’s is fast and responsive. Their domain control center is very advanced. I can forward and mask my domains with a minimum of effort (and more importantly, with no charge) and still access the DNS.
Every domain comes with email forwarding (at least that I have seen) and you can forward using any of your domains. They support the majority of domain suffixes including the new .mobi (for dedicated mobile sites).
Now, I don’t want to look like a walking advertisement for GoDaddy. Sure enough, their ads don’t need my unshapely body. But aside from their ads, their service is in a class of it’s own. If you have any specific questions, just ask.
For those of you who are counting… there are 27 days until Christmas.
As many of you know, Vista, Microsoft’s new OS, will be released soon and with it a whole new UI. Well, I got a sneak-peek at the new UI on my own computer when I installed the Vista Transformation Pack earlier this evening. This new software actually changes your UI (don’t worry, it doesn’t make any changes in your programs) to match that of Vista.
So, I’ve been having fun tonight toying with this. It gives you the transparency in your windows, new toolbars and Start Menu and even changes your starting screen to give you a complete picture. My vote is in and I like the new UI!
By the way, if you want to try the Transformation Pack yourself, you can download it here.
With all that has been going on, I haven’t yet found the time to do a little posting. And for my first post since June I have some great news. I have been published!
No, It’s not something big, like a best-selling book, but in my eyes, it’s a start. My wife and I co-authored an article on the importance of including search engine marketing in your overall business promotion plan. The article was published in Studio Photography (formally Studio Photography & Design), in their July 2006 issue.
Hey all,
After countless weddings a year that I attend, nothing sums up the dances that you see quite like this one…

What do you all think about this? Tell me if I am way off base here, but I think the market has always been there for these types of fims, it’s Hollywood that has been too scared to capitalize on them.
